Heron Blue Production workshops are the designed to instruct high school rock bands on how to produce their own songs. In working with our very experienced staff, students will strum every chord, strike every drum, and turn every knob during our weekend long workshop. The value of this kind of hands on learning can not be equaled. Student engineers and producers will have the opportunity to work directly with our chief engineers, who have mixed with Grammy winning artists. Band members will work with our arrangement specialists to maximize the musicality of their song. The essential components of song arrangement, melodic hooks, phrasing, tracking, signal flow, microphone placement, mixing, mastering, Basic EQ, compression, and effects processing will be the primary subjects of study at hand. At the end of the weekend, each student will walk away with a self produced, professionally recorded single as well as a certificate of completion. It is our goal to teach young musicians the essentials behind building a realistic and viable career with their talents.
Providing music education through the avenues of performance and production. Heron Blue production workshops are designed to assist students in their quest to pursue a career in music. We believe it’s important to educate young musicians about the different avenues they can choose to propel themselves into achieving a successful career. In our two day program young bands will learn the fundamentals of studio operation and how to be an effective session player. Most importantly, they will learn a value system that is essential to pursuing a life of artistic expression with their peers.
